    Convertible costumes give the ability to have several different options to one gown. By designing and creating convertible pieces, one can attending several different functions and never wear the same dress, but always keeping with the style.

 

     The designs above is a historical approach to this idea. Created to span the 20th century, the first gown resembles the begin of the century with a black lace bodice and torso over icy blue satin, large black plumage at the neckline, and solid blue satin skirt. Using the same black lace and blue torso, the “flapper” period can be inspired with beaded fringe replacing the solid satin skirt, the plumage being let out, and the empire waistband removed. Halfway through that period, the 50s saw simpler, more sophisticated styles. That look can be achieved simply by using just the torso dress piece, removing all additions, and accessorizing with vintage seamed hose
